Dear Family and Friends of PDMSS,
We are very much looking forward to greeting all of our students and families tomorrow for the first day of school. I wanted to send out a few updates to give you timely information. On Friday, I received the schedule of construction to install a new septic to replace the existing system at PDMSS located on our playground.
That’s right, folks, a brand new 12,000 gallon septic tank. Work is slated to begin Wednesday, September 9, 2009. The district has set forth an aggressive timeline to complete the installation process within a few short weeks to minimize school disruption.
I want to assure you that every precaution will be taken to keep all of our students, staff and parents safe during the construction process. The perimeter of the construction zone will be safely fenced and secure. Please remind your child to stay a good distance away from the fence and equipment.
We have already prepared an informative assembly for our students to make this a great learning experience. Last year, we learned all about solar panels. This year, we’ll learn about our septic system! The common feature of these systems: high functioning and efficient systems help the environment.
